The product has received approval to make a FIFRA 2(ee) recommendation for use on stink bugs in 17 states hit hard by stink bug infestations
PHILADELPHIA – Talstar Professional insecticide has received approval to make a FIFRA 2(ee) recommendation for use on stink bugs in 17 states hit hard by stink bug infestations: Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Florida.
Mostly a nuisance, the brown marmorated stink bug doesn’t bite or carry diseases, but it infests houses and buildings at the onset of cooler temperatures. In recent years, stink bug populations have exploded in eastern and selected other states. When threatened by predators stink bugs excrete an offensive smelling liquid, generally compared to the smell of dirty feet.
Talstar Professional insecticide can be applied as a lawn or perimeter treatment, for prevention and control of stink bugs and more than 75 additional pests. A water-based product, Talstar Professional is non-irritating and does not leave unsightly residues or cause phytotoxicity.
“This recommendation indicates pest professionals can use an effective tool for use in the states currently battling high stink bug populations,” said Catherine Bernard, product manager professional pest segment for FMC Professional Solutions. “Pest and turf professionals are very familiar with Talstar Professional and can easily integrate it into their stink bug prevention and control programs.”

The 44-page catalog is a comprehensive guide for pest management professionals (PMP)s and distributors of Bell’s full line of rodenticides, bait stations, mechanical traps and glue traps.
MADISON, WIS – Bell Laboratories published its 2011-2012 Rodent Control Product & Label Guide this fall with updated product information in an easy-to-read format.
The 44-page catalog is a comprehensive guide for pest management professionals (PMP)s and distributors of Bell’s full line of rodenticides, bait stations, mechanical traps and glue traps.
A handy feature of the catalog is the two 2-page reference guides: the rodenticide guide gives an at-a-glance listing of Bell’s 15 rodenticides with active ingredient, product features, uses and other useful information, while the second guide lists the features and purpose of Bell’s bait stations, traps & accessories.
Product pages include more in-depth information and are organized with colored tabs according to product type for easy referencing. Specific rodenticide pages, for example, feature full-color photos of Bell’s new packaging, along with bulleted product features, packaging info, EPA registration number, and product code and bait form dimensions.
New products in this year’s catalog include Protecta EVO Express – Bell’s tamper-resistant bait station pre-weighted with a concrete block; T1 Mouse – a pre-baited mouse bait station for residential use; and Contrac with Lumitrack – a special additive incorporated into the bait which makes tracking mouse activity easier.
As an aid in referencing products, specimen labels and MSDS are grouped together in the back of the catalog, rather than with each product.
Catalogs are now available through Bell distributors and technical representatives.
The Northern Manhattan Improvement Corp. sought ways of alleviating its residents’ rodent and pest problems.
TWINSBURG, OH and NEW YORK — With the help of New York-based Bug Off Pest Control Center, the team at J.T. Eaton recently donated several cases of glue boards to the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corp., a non-profit organization. NMIC’s mission is to “serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people in our community on their paths to secure, violence-free and prosperous futures.”
“We had a surplus of glue board pallets, and wanted to do something through our Stanley Z. Baker Foundation,” said Dale Baker, grandson of the Foundation’s namesake and vice president of the family-owned pest management product manufacturer. “We knew that a call to Andy Linares would bring us the answer.”
"When the J.T. Eaton team called and asked me if I knew of a deserving organization for a product donation, I thought of NMIC right away," recalls Linares, who is president of Bug Off Pest Control Center. "With New York City's high rodent population, the glue boards have made a world of difference in the level of comfort for these families and their homes."
Barbara Lowry, NMIC’s executive director, echoes the sentiment. “We’re very happy to distribute the donation of glueboards to our clients, tenant associations and our weatherization program buildings. We appreciate the generosity and kindness of both Bug Off and J.T. Eaton.”
